Attorney Thomas D. McLaughlin

Attorney McLaughlin is an experienced trial lawyer with a strong background in both civil and criminal litigation.

His first exposure to the law came after his graduation from Fordham University in 2000.  Upon graduation, he volunteered a year of service to a non-profit organization that provided legal aid to low-income families. This experience opened his eyes to the importance of legal advocacy and drew him to a career in law. He continued his education and pursuit of legal justice in San Diego, CA, at Thomas Jeffereson School of Law, where he studied law and worked at a veterans legal assistance clinic. 

As an attorney, he has practiced in several capacities, including as an associate for a consumer advocacy firm, as a prosecutor for the Connecticut Division of Criminal Justice, and as a trial attorney for an insurance defense firm. 

Since joining Cloutier & Cassella, LLC, in 2012, Attorney McLaughlin has devoted his practice to fighting for and protecting the rights of his clients in the areas of personal injury, landlord/tenant disputes, contract disputes, and criminal defense. Through the years, Attorney McLaughlin has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict and has a proud history of obtaining favorable settlements and judgements for his clients. 

Attorney McLaughlin is admitted to the Connecticut Bar and is also admitted to practice before the Federal District Court in the District of Connecticut.  His professional memberships include the Connecticut Bar Association, the Middlesex County Bar Association and the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association.

Attorney McLaughlin lives with his wife and family in Guilford. He grew up along the Connecticut Shoreline and loves living in and serving the shoreline area.
